For makers
List your work for free. Sell it where you already sell.
MakerRun is a library of 3D-print files whose profiles are checked to print. Here is what being in it costs you (nothing), how the checks work, and how selling works today.
What's free
- Listing a file. Upload it here, or link to where it already lives on Printables, MakerWorld, Thingiverse or Cults3D.
- Verification. Both checks are free, and neither can be bought: no badge on this site was paid for.
- Your storefront: one page at makerrun.com/@yourname with your files, your prints and your links.
- Getting a file. A listing is never paywalled; downloading needs only a free account.
How verification works
A listing can earn two badges from two separate checks. A file can pass one without the other, so the site shows them separately.
The file check
Attach the sliced project you printed from (a .3mf). Our server opens the file itself and confirms it holds a genuine, print-ready profile for the printer it names. Nobody can grant this by hand, and when you update the file, the new version is checked again.
The photo check
Add a photo of your own print. A moderator confirms it is a photograph of a real object, not a render. Listings with a confirmed print photo are shown first.
Any printer can be listed and checked. So far, every verified profile is for a Snapmaker U1.
How selling works today
Selling is a link. Add the address of your product on a store you already use, and a Buy button on your listing sends buyers there. The sale happens in your store, with your customer, on your terms.
A Buy button can link to:
- Stripe payment links
- Gumroad
- Lemon Squeezy
- Payhip
- StreamPay
- Salla
- Zid
- Ko-fi
- Etsy
- MakerRun never sees the sale. No payment, order or buyer details reach us, and we take no cut.
- Link to a product page, not a one-time payment or invoice link: everyone who opens your listing clicks the same button.
- Want only buyers to download the file? Set the listing so its files need your approval, and give each buyer's account access yourself. A payment never unlocks anything automatically, because we never see it.
- Selling printed objects rather than files? When you upload, choose “Sell a printed item”: your photo of the object is the listing.
